Meningococcal Meningitis is a form of meningococcal disease, a serious and potentially fatal bacterial infection of the tissue surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Adolescents and young adults are at increased risk of contracting meningococcal disease. Meningococcal disease can be difficult to diagnose in its early stages because meningitis symptoms can be misdiagnosed as viral illnesses such as flu symptoms.  Many who survive meningococcal meningitis are left with serious medical problems including amputation of limbs, severe scarring, brain damage, and psychological problems.

National Meningitis Association

The National Meningitis Association, Inc. (NMA) is a national non-profit charity founded in July, 2002. The primary goal of NMA is to educate and increase awareness of meningococcal disease. The founding members were personally affected by the tragedy of meningococcal disease. NMA’s mission is to educate families, medical professionals and others about bacterial meningitis and prevention approaches to the disease. NMA is focused on raising awareness and protection among adolescents and young adults, many of whom can be protected through education and vaccination efforts.

An extraordinary opportunity for all ladies ages 14-60, the annual California Ethnic World Pageant (CEWP) is a beauty pageant that embraces all ethnicities and cultures worldwide. The CEWP emphasizes that the most important beauty comes from within. "Being a winner begins with the inner" is our philosophy and not only do we speak it, we live it with every choice we make every moment of every day.

The California Ethnic World Pageant is a unique pageant, which portrays both the inner and external beauty of its contestants through the recognition of the variety of shades and stages of beauty! As one of the programs of Dream It Be It! LLC., the California Ethnic World Pageant provides the opportunity for California women to showcase their cultural diversity across the age continuum of 14 – 60. The SUCCESS4U Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, manages the California Ethnic World Pageant’s endowment fund, which provides the Pageant contestants the opportunity to achieve their educational and/or philanthropic aspirations through significant scholarship awards, as well as charitable donations to the winning contestants’ charities of choice.

LEGACY PROJECTS - COIN COLLECTION DONATION

LEGACY PROJECT

Foreign Coin Collection Donation to the

American Association of Young Numismatics

Here is what I donated and why?

Many people especially young people are obsessed with having money- notice I said "Having" not making, without the understanding of why they want it our what to do with it. Most people do not even know what money is made out of, where it came from or how it circulates. Foreign currency is even more of a mystery to most. Yet, foreign currency makes up most of the worlds local economies.

Most Americans have never experienced obsolete dollars, coins or huge transitions in currency but other parts of the world have and I think it is important for people to be aware of this. Here a Dollar is a Dollar but else where I Dollar could very well not be worth a Dollar next year.

Some of these coins I am donating have some value - other used to have a lot of value and now are worth nothing due to governmental changes, wars, etc.

The AAYN is a group of young people that are interested in how and they way in which currency works and affects society.
